Meetings
The Monongahela Rockhounds have monthly meetings. On the first Saturday of the months September through June, a meeting is held at 7:30 PM in the Munhall Borough Building, located on:
1860 West Street, Munhall, PA 15120-2535
The location for the June meeting has not been determined.
The meeting length varies, but usually lasts about 2 hours. There is no meeting in December, July, or August. September and January meetings are usually the second Saturday due to Labor Day and New Years weekends.
Meetings will be In-person, Zoom or both and will be determined on a monthly basis as the Covid situation changes:
Zoom will be an alternative meeting method that we can return to on an as-needed basis in the future.
Our members receive the Monongahela Rockhound News, the monthly newsletter before the meeting:

1.
Meetings usually begin with a presentation by an invited speaker or club member on a topic of mineral, fossil, or lapidary interest.
2.
We take a social break with refreshments, provided by the month's hosts, while the silent auction runs. Members (and new guests) bid on donated hobby related materials, the proceeds of which are used to support club activities and operations.
3.
There is a show & tell period. For every meeting, there is a "Mineral of the Month." This is not a requirement, but merely a suggestion to help create a more themed show & tell.
5.
The meeting adjourns.
