SCHEDULE UPDATES - Continued Zoom Meetings and Pending Annual Show
The next meeting will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2021 beginning at 7PM EDT. For the [extended] Show-and-Tell this March, our theme is Tourmaline (i.e. black, pink, tourmalinated quartz, etc.). The theme is only a suggestion, so members and new guests and applicants—share whatever gems, minerals, fossils, and lapidary art findings and creations you wish to tell us more about!
The 2021 annual show is tentatively scheduled for July 17-18 [changed during March Meeting].
We look forward to the possibility that this year will offer better conditions for our show to stay on schedule, or still take place even if rescheduled to a back-up date. Please register to the event(s) to receive updates for 2021’s pending show! Registration is open to the public.
Club Officers will keep the website(s) and club members' e-mails informed on any further changes.

New Website Guests:
Read all the newsletters!
In 2021, members will be able to download .PDF newsletters and have the option to read the current year's issues while logged into their member account. If you want to find a specific newsletter or article (2020 and onward), you'll also be able to use the website's search bar at the top of the page and get matching results as time goes on. The website newsletter is transitioning—we’ll update everyone when we have it figured out!
*New* Member Perk!
The Newsletter Archive is where members will be able to download .PDF newsletters for the club from 2003 to present 2021. Current, new, and returning members will be able to find and read member created content they may have missed.
I hope everyone is well! 2020 was a year of testing digital approaches to the club’s activities. Although they work and we’ve garnered interest and new members, I’m still looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone in person someday—maybe even in 2021 if all goes well?
Updating HTML on the original website and creating this Wix website on behalf of the club has been a lot of fun, so thank-you all for the project opportunity. I hope this website can serve as an appropriate tool to make communication, processes, and access easier for all current, past, and future members.
A Q&A (Questions and Answers) page that will offer tutorials of how to maximize the benefits of creating and using member accounts is another project on this website I’d like to gradually write and develop. Over time, I’ll try to create simplified instructional videos to help everyone better understand the functions of the website and the membership. If this still proves too complicated, I can manually create accounts for current members upon request (if an online account is something of interest — it is an optional exclusive to our members).
The website is live on the original domain, www.monongahelarockhounds.org. Thank-you members for your patience as the club officers coordinated this process.

E-mail accounts will be transitioning next, so please use our

I'm striving to make the website as streamlined and user-friendly as possible between the navigation menu and page layout, to the images, links, and buttons... but I'm also human. If something on the website doesn't show up correctly, is inaccurate, presents grammar or spelling errors, appears distracting with certain features or design (colors, images, or textured backgrounds), or just making your browsing experience terrible, let me know what you'd like to see improved on the mobile and desktop versions!
Become a member: Memberships will provide full access to current and past newsletter downloads and 2020-2021 website pages moving forward. There are other perks as well!
Since meetings are going digital (until conditions comfortably allow in-person gatherings), please follow the instructions to MAIL applications and checks if you would like your membership to remain effective through December 2021 [possibly extending into 2022–this is currently To Be Determined]. Access to the monthly newsletters and Zoom passcodes will remain exclusive to current members and new applicants who have submitted their applications [via MAIL]. If applied online, your e-mails will become effective within a week of your application.
